Mexican Police Detain Chucky Doll for Terrorizing Public with Knife

In Monclova, Mexico, police arrested both the owner of the Chucky doll and the doll itself for using a knife to intimidate individuals in public.

In an event straight out of horror films, law enforcement authorities in Monclova, Mexico detained a Chucky doll and its master for wielding a knife and intimidating the public.

The puppet’s handler, disclosed as “Carlos N”, was reportedly leveraging the doll to unnerve locals in the city plaza, all whilst under the influence of an unlawful narcotic. It is claimed that Carlos N. positioned the doll to command a sizable blade, in order to terrorize citizens and extort money.

“The doll was thrust into people’s faces to frighten them, constituting an offense and leading to the arrest,” detailed Juan Raúl Alcocer, the former Monclova Police director, to Fuerza Informativa Azteca.

As reported by Reuters, both Carlos N. and the Chucky doll were arrested and hauled to the Monclova police station on charges of breaching the peace and endangering other’s safety.

Upon arriving at the station, Carlos N. and the doll, which sadly still harbored a knife ingrained in its attire, were photographed for booking records. While Carlos N. presumably had no trouble standing on his own for the picture, police officers needed to prop up the Chucky doll by its fiery orange locks to capture the shot.

The sight of the doll being apprehended and positioned for a mugshot caught fire on social media. Alongside the ensuing virality came criticism towards the Monclova police officers for not handling their role with due gravity.

Alcocer recounted, “A few journalists were lightheartedly asking the officers to take photos with the doll, to handcuff it. Job regulations must be taken seriously and such antics should be avoided.”

Precisely, the policeman responsible for cuffing the Chucky doll later faced reproaches.

The dread-inspiring doll made its debut in the 1988 movie Child’s Play. Set in the plot, a serial murderer uses a voodoo ritual to transfer his soul to a doll as he succumbs to a bullet injury. The doll ends up in a blameless family’s home, triggering its cruel reign.

From that point forth, the Chucky doll has been featured in seven additional films and even ventured into television. And as it appears, it served Carlos N. as an ally in his attempts to rob unnerved pedestrians in Monclova.

Yet, the Chucky chapter brings another surprise. Mexico News Daily reports that Carlos N. was let go shortly after his capture, but the Chucky doll’s legal status remains ambiguous.

“The culprit arrived with his little figure. The doll was seized together with his personal belongings once he was imprisoned,” Alcocer informed Fuerza Informativa Azteca.

Did the doll remain with the law? Is it presently collecting dust somewhere in the depths of the Monclova station? The answer at present seems uncertain. However, locals should perhaps be wary of a doll sporting striking orange hair when in the city square.
