Upcoming Enhancements for Samsung Galaxy AI: Anticipating a Boost in Powerful Paid Features

Just a little bit over the release of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Series that integrated Galaxy AI powered by Google Cloud, Samsung restated its intentions to further this technology in terms of functionality and scope.

President and Head of MX Business at Samsung Electronics TM Roh confirmed that Galaxy AI is targeted to roll out to older models in the early part of 2024. Furthermore, the Galaxy AI is targeted in roughly 100 million of the world’s Galaxies mobile devices.

Here is TM Roh’s official press statement:

According to our analysis, there are various needs for mobile AI. So, there will be consumers who will be satisfied with using the AI capabilities for free. Then there could also be customers who wish for even more powerful AI capabilities, and even pay for them. So, in the future decision making, we will take all these factors into consideration.

Based on this string, it can be said that Samsung may plan to introduce more powerful AI features in the future, but those will also come with a paid premium model like GPT 4 of OpenAI and Copilot of Microsoft. Considering that Samsung’s AI features are run on Google’s Gemini Pro, it seems plausible that Google’s premium suite of advanced AI might be powered by Google’s Gemini Ultra, which is a high-resolution offering lined up for release this year.

Roh also reaffirmed Samsung’s decision, which had already been announced before that Galaxy users would enjoy AI features for free until 2025, regardless of the costs of running the servers. Nevertheless, the brand has not as yet reserved a fixed price beyond at that point.

Additionally, Roh informed us of Samsung’s plans to initiate laptop production in India, which is targeted at satisfying the Indian market. This program will be implemented at the hotel at the Samsung factory in Noida, India.
